It is a privilege to pursue a passion. I am completely humbled to be a recipient of the Dr. Susan Atchley Memorial Scholarship. The journey of pursuing a career in medicine comes with many challenges, one being financial. I express my deepest gratitude towards the individuals who not only acknowledge students’ hard work and academic success, but benevolence towards those less fortunate. Thank you for contributing to my overall medical school success through this scholarship, it is a true honor.

RUSVM

I am extremely thankful and truly appreciative of being awarded the Empower Scholarship Fund for Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. As I embrace my last semester on St. Kitts before heading to clinics, this award gives me inspiration to push further and make sure I always give 110% in whatever I do. I have always dreamt of becoming a veterinarian since before I could walk and I am about to achieve that dream. Within a year, I will have DVM after my name and this scholarship puts me one step closer to pursuing the career I was born for.

I, Elizabeth Calhoun consider it a great honor to be a recipient of the Empower Scholarship Fund Award. I am a single mom of 2 boys, working and balancing a single income household while going back to school to get my BSN. I feel blessed in receiving this and truly appreciate it more then words can say. When I told my boys about receiving it, I was able to say “see guys it pays to work hard for A’s.” I am trying to set an example to them through my own efforts to excel in the BSN program. Thank you so very much for recognizing my efforts with this scholarship award.
